The Groundwater Foundation – an US organisation with the mission to ‘educate and motivate people to care for and about groundwater’. Their site contains lots of educational resources for teachers and children including ‘Making Discoveries – groundwater activities for the classroom and community’
UK Groundwater Forum – A UK organisation promoting understanding on eh use and protection of groundwater which has a list of information resources, largely focused British issues but of general application
Brainpop – US web site with animated movies and interactive quizzes covering English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Technology. Includes a section on groundwater.
US Environmental Protection Agency – Within this large site there are site has games, activities & experiments, some of which are related to groundwater. Search on groundwater on the EPA site to find many information items and reference to legislation and management of groundwater in the USA.
US Geological Survey’s Water Science for Schools – site has information on many aspects of water including groundwater, along with pictures, data, maps, and an interactive centre where you can test your water knowledge.
US Geological Survey’s main water pages – include some basic groundwater text, web-based reports covering in depth the sustainability of groundwater resources in the USA and their link with surface waters as well as real-time groundwater monitoring data
Brown University – US American site with some useful animated pages explaining some basic groundwater concepts
Environment Canada – Site with an introduction to groundwater including some nice diagrams
Virginia Tech – US site with an animation of how contamination moves underground
