Corporate Sponsors

IAH invites companies working in the field of groundwater and geoscience who wish to demonstrate their support for the goals of IAH, to become corporate sponsors and help provide IAH additional income beyond the contributions of its professional members to support its work. The annual fee of Euro 2000 includes the basic staff corporate membership and provides publicity benefits for the company at IAH Congresses and other meetings.

If your company
  • has an interest in groundwater science or engineering
  • recognises the importance of proper groundwater management and protection as essential for the well being of humankind and the natural environment
  • wants to have contact with people and organisations working in this field and demonstrate your commitment to these issues

then we invite you consider making your company a
CORPORATE SPONSOR of IAH – the worldwide groundwater organisation.

Who are we? | What do we do? | How are we funded? | Could you help us further? | Interested in knowing more?

Who are we?

IAH is an international organisation for scientists, engineers and other professionals working in the fields of groundwater resource planning, management and protection. The organisation reached its 50th anniversary in 2006 and continues to grow, because of the increasing social and environmental importance of groundwater. We now have a membership of over 3800 in more than 135 countries. IAH is incorporated in the United Kingdom where it is also a registered charity.

What do we do?

IAH harnesses the research, knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm of its members to promote the professional management of groundwater as part of the integrated management of water resources. Groundwater issues are not always well understood by the general public, policy makers and even some professionals in other disciplines. It is a role of IAH to provide an international voice for groundwater in world water policy and to champion its proper use and protection. IAH works with agencies in the UN system, with water-related NGOs, and is a member of the World Water Council.

How are we funded?

IAH is mostly funded by membership subscriptions. Individual members pay according to a sliding scale depending on the income level of the country of their residence. By this means and through the generosity of members who sponsors colleagues in developing countries we have a truly worldwide membership. IAH offers corporate membership to companies so that they can enrol their staff as members of the Association.

But maybe your company could help us further!

IAH wants to do more but is limited by the capacity of members to fund it through their annual dues

  • to increase its capacity to offer sponsored membership to professionals in developing countries
  • to expand its publications, especially those which help technology transfer and capacity building in groundwater management
  • to continue to offer low membership rates to students to encourage them in the profession
  • to extend its charitable activities by providing or facilitating professional advice to aid agencies on use and management of groundwater
  • to play a part in helping the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals for groundwater

Could your company become a CORPORATE SPONSOR of IAH? You would receive all the current benefits to support your staff through corporate membership but in addition you would support our work in the areas outlined above.
