MAR-NET was launched on 10th September 2009 at the Hyderabad Congress. The aims of MAR-NET were discussed and lessons from MAR experiences in India presented. Notes on the meeting identified actions.

A plenary session of IAH-MAR was held at ISMAR6 in Phoenix, Arizona on 29th October 2007.
Several work groups were initiated as described in the notes from the meeting.

A one-day UNESCO-IAH sponsored Workshop was held on 11 June, the topic under discussion being 'Benefits, problems and solutions in implementing appropriate MAR in developing countries'. The Plenary Session held on the evening of Monday 13 June was well attended and gave the opportunity for working groups to report progress and for feedback from the workshop and training programme (largely UNESCO sponsored) to be given.www.ismar2005.org
