| Welcome to IAH-MAR Managed Aquifer Recharge |
|
IAH-MAR is a forum for information on the work within the international groundwater community
on the management and enhancement of aquifer recharge, a vital tool in the sustainable management of the world's underground water resources.
World Water Week 2010 - UNESCO with IAH have been awarded a one hour seminar at the Stockholm International Water Week, 5 to 11 September 2010, to give exposure to MAR-NET. The session entitled "Managed Aquifer Recharge for Safe Low Cost Drinking Water Supplies" will be held on Wednesday September 8, 17.45 - 18.45.
MAR-NET is launched at 8th IAHS Scientific Assembly/37th IAH Congress in Hyderabad, 6-12 September 2009. 38 scientists attended a workshop to launch MAR-NET, focusing on "Lessons learnt in India.". Notes from the meeting and presentations from the IAH-MAR plenary session are available.
Based on a UNESCO-supported MAR pilot project investigation, the Government of Italy has announced Euro 15.6M support of a water supply development in Binh Thuan, Vietnam. This is welcome news at a time when MAR-NET is being established to inform and build capacity for safe, sustainable and effective use of MAR to address UN MDG for drinking water.
